The Volunteer Center works with over 11,000 volunteers each year. The vast majority of the volunteers are referred to our partner nonprofit agencies. However, we also have volunteers who work “in-house” including:
Volunteer Outreach: Help connect people to volunteer projects by speaking at events and setting up tables with information.
Photographers: Take pictures of volunteers in order to build our library of photos used in promotional literature.
Graphic Designers: Keep us looking top-notch by helping layout flyers, newsletters, invitations.
Writers: interview nonprofits, volunteers and community leaders to help us tell the story of volunteerism.
Agency Relations Volunteers: These volunteers do site visits to nonprofits in Putnam or Westchester, evaluate volunteer needs, and discuss the benefits of partnering with The Volunteer Center.
Experienced Volunteer Executives and Professionals: These volunteers help build capacity in nonprofits around the county through pro-bono consulting. Read More…
Office Helper: Our office is a hub of activity. In-house volunteers do everything from answering the phone, to making calls, to keeping our volunteer opportunity listings updated.
Marketing: Volunteers with an education and business background in marketing are needed throughout the year to help us tackle our yearly marketing plan and set up strategies to recruit volunteers.
