Latest NewsGiving Tuesday is a campaign to create a national day of giving at the start of the annual holiday season. It celebrates and encourages charitable activities that support non-profit organizations. Taking place on Tuesday, December 3rd, 2013, we hope you will join us in this national movement to encourage supporting nonprofits and the causes that mean so much to us. The Volunteer Center is taking part to encourage everyone to "think outside the gift box" and support nonprofits that make a difference in your community.
The holidays are approaching. For those who want to volunteer around the special days of the year, remember that the partner agencies we work with also have those same dates on their calendars. Check back frequently for available projects and sign up early to ensure your spot. Remember, this is a fine time to work on self-directed projects benefiting agencies that need your help, such as food pantries and shelters. Plan a drive among friends, colleagues and neighbors to meet the needs of your neighbors. Need ideas? Please call us at (914) 948-4452 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.

MLK Day of Service 2013
"What have you done for others?" This question posed by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. still resonates today, and over 500 people -- of all ages, on their own, with friends, family or with colleagues -- answered in strength during our 2013 MLK Day of Service. They contributed more than 900 hours of service in a variety of ways to nonprofits, lending a helping hand to make stronger and resilient communities.
Thank you for your time, effort, enthusiasm and contributions towards commemorating the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.
