The Volunteer Center encourages its partner agencies to provide the highest level of support for their volunteers, since this can increase the retention of valuable volunteers. We know this is not always affordable, so we would like to help out. Thanks to specialized funding, we are able to provide your volunteers who are 55+ years of age with these free services:
- Recognition: From free museum tours to our annual luncheon, volunteers come together to share their successes and stories.
- Transportation Reimbursement: RSVP members who would not otherwise be able to volunteer without this supplement can receive reimbursement for their method of transportation (mileage, cab fare, bus fare) to their volunteer assignment.
- Insurance: RSVP has a supplemental insurance which covers members while they are volunteering. For more information, view the brochure here.
- Recruitment and Matching Services: Helping recruit and match more volunteers to impact the issues you care about.
Registering your volunteers for RSVP services is easy and free.
- Have each of your volunteers fill out the RSVP Membership Form.
- Each quarter, The Volunteer Center will ask you to verify the volunteers' status by submitting their total service hours.
Since 1972, RSVP of Westchester has been connecting people age 55 and over--retired or working--to meaningful volunteer opportunities that enrich their lives and the life of their communities. We involve seniors in service that matches their personal interests and makes use of their skills and lifelong experience.
RSVP of Westchester is one of a nationwide network of over 750 RSVPs that are a part of the Corporation for National and Community Service. The program supports close to 900 volunteers each year at nonprofit organizations throughout Westchester.
