Experienced adults age 55+ are redefining themselves and their communities through volunteer work with RSVP.
RSVP is proof-positive that organized volunteers make bigger impacts in the community and help provide each other with valuable resources and support.
Nearly 900 RSVP of Westchester volunteers are now giving their time in hundreds of ways including:
- Tutoring
- Consulting
- Helping isolated seniors
- Reading to children
- Educating people about Medicare

In addition, RSVP members have developed several initiatives and programs including:
- Pro-bono consulting for nonprofits in areas like finance, marketing, public relations with the Experienced Volunteer Executives and Professionals
- Serving on Boards of Directors for a nonprofits
- Teaching interviewing skills through Job Readiness
- Mentoring women who have left abusive relationships
- Training Boards of Directors to lead more effectively with Board Resource Team
The Volunteer Center is the sponsor of RSVP of Westchester, which is one of a nationwide network of over 750 RSVP’s that are a part of the Corporation for National and Community Service.
