VOLUNTEERS
Job Readiness

Volunteers in the Job Readiness Program help agencies prepare job seekers to enter or re-enter the job market. They enhance existing job search programs by giving workshops on:

  • Interviewing techniques
  • Office etiquette
Role play and mock interviews are used as tools to enliven the workshops and provide experience and feedback for job seekers. A manual on successful interviewing, produced by JRP volunteers, is given to participants. The manual also includes a section on resume and letter writing.

More than 30 community agencies have been assisted by volunteers in the Job Readiness Program since its start in 1991. The Job Readiness Program gives retirees from business and the professions a unique opportunity to share their experience of a lifetime.

For further information, please email or call Judy Kadish at (914) 227-9306.

Funding support is provided by TD Bank USA, N.A.
